The Marathon Charity Cooperation is a group of DC area charities that have combined their training and race day programs to enhance the experience of the runners who are making sacrifices to serve these charities.

The mission of the International Special Event Society (ISES) is to educate, advance and promote the special events industry and its network of professionals, along with related industries. ISES strives to uphold the integrity of the special events profession to the general public, acquire and disseminate useful business information, foster a spirit of cooperation amongst its members and other special events professionals, and cultivate high standards of business practices.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) serves the needs of the human resource management professional by providing the most essential and comprehensive set of resources available. In addition, the Society is committed to advancing the human resource profession and the capabilities of all human resource professionals to ensure that HR is an essential and effective partner in developing and executing organizational strategy.

The Washington Parking Association, is a nonprofit trade organization of commercial off-street parking operators serving the Nation's Capital. Its membership represents the majority of Washington's Parking firms, with facilities conveniently located to serve Washington's major points of interest, hotels and retail, restaurants and theaters, and office buildings.

The National Parking Association (NPA) is a network of companies representing thousands of parking industry professionals — people who are dealing with the same responsibilities and challenges as you. We represent private operators, parking consultants, colleges and universities, airports, municipalities, parking authorities, hospital and medical centers, developers and others, along with industry vendors.

The Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) is the District of Columbia public agency that protects child victims, and children at risk, of abuse or neglect.

CFSA has four basic functions: Child Protective Services, Supportive Family Services, Foster Care, and Permanence.

•  Child Protective Services is the gateway to child protection. When people report child abuse or neglect to CFSA, Child Protective Services is the first critical step to protecting child victims.
•  Supportive Family Services is the bridge to help troubled families to heal. CFSA connects families to services such as counseling, parenting classes, housing and child care assistance, and substance abuse treatment.
•  Foster Care is a safe and short-term haven. When parents are unable or unwilling to keep children safe, CFSA with court approval must remove the children from home. CFSA then works with parents to help them overcome family problems so the children can return home to a safe environment.
•  Permanence is a safe exit. CFSA creates pathways to permanence through four processes: reunification, guardianship, adoption and life-long connections.

Training Grounds’ emphasis is on building people while building communities. At the core of every Training Grounds program is the development of the person, which helps us make a true impact in the lives of our participants and the community at-large.  An individual who 1) has understanding of his/her skills, strengths and interests;  2) understands how to apply those attributes; 3) is given the opportunity to utilize those skills, strengths and interests will be successful not only in the world of work but in every aspect of his/her life. 

In addition, Training Grounds is committed to developing the market of untapped and underutilized workers who may not be college bound but possess useful & marketable skills that are desperately needed and in high demand in today’s workforce.  As a result of years of neglecting this market, certain employment sectors in the region and country have suffered (i.e. health, construction, and service).  By equipping and preparing these future workers, Training Grounds makes a difference not only in the life of that worker but in their household, community, and region.
